Plans, credits, and billing

BabelPage has three tiers plus a credit balance you can top up independently.

The tiers

• Free — 5 scans/month, no translations. Great for trying the

product; you'll need to upgrade or add credits to translate.

• Pro · $9.99/mo — 50 scans/month, 50 translations/month, Claude

refinement on flagged pages, email support within 48h.

• Scale · $29.99/mo — unlimited scans and translations, Claude

refinement on every page, priority support, diagram/table extraction, batch processing.

Monthly counters reset on the same day of each month as your subscription cycle started (visible on My subscription as "Monthly counters reset on the Nth of each month").

Credits

Every upload costs one credit. Credits work as an overflow buffer past your monthly tier:

• Pro user hits their 50 scans/month → next upload consumes a credit

if you have one, otherwise 402 payment-required.

• Free user with no credits → 402 as soon as the 5-scan cap is hit.

Scan-only projects don't consume credits or count against the tier cap — capturing scans without translating is effectively free.

Managing your plan

Open My subscription:

• Change plan — jumps to the plan comparison screen.
• Manage in Stripe portal — opens Stripe's hosted portal in a

new tab. Update card, view invoices, download receipts, cancel.

• Cancel subscription — a one-tap cancel that runs

cancel_at_period_end on Stripe. Your plan stays active until the current period ends, then drops to Free automatically. Undo by restarting a subscription before the period ends.

Common billing situations

• Card declined / past due — you'll see a red "Update your card"

banner and outbound payments retry per Stripe's schedule. Fix it in the Stripe portal.

• Charged twice — usually a webhook race. File a support ticket

with the receipt IDs and we'll refund.

• Wrong plan — cancel + resubscribe on the correct plan; we

pro-rate the difference.
